Organic Vegan Fried Chicken of the Woods
Chicken of the Woods
2 cups of Organic Unbleached Flour 1 cup of Organic Panko Crumbs 1tbs of Cayenne 1tbs of Garlic Salt 1tbs of Cane Sugar 1tbs of Pepper 1tbs of Turmeric
4 cups of Peanut Oil (for frying) 1/2 cup of Flax Seed
1/2 cup of Almond Milk
In a medium sized pot bring approximately 3 cups of water to boil then add your flax seed stirring continuously for 10 minutes.
Strain your flax seeds from the gel and set them aside for later recipes. Add the almond milk to your strained gel and mix thoroughly until your mixture becomes frothy.
Rinse your chicken of the woods mushroom and immediately dry with a paper towel.
Add all of your herbs and seasoning to your organic flour mixing your organic panko crumbs in. Bathe your Mushrooms in the egg substitute and almond milk mixture then coat thoroughly with panko and flour.(do this twice) Fry your coated chicken of the woods in a shallow pan with your peanut oil and cook until golden brown.
